Provider Relief Fund
RHCs have received multiple tranches or allocations of money from the federal government to help with COVID-19, including both general and targeted distributions from the Provider Relief Fund. It is important for RHCs to understand what funding they received, how and when it can be spent, and report on it correctly. PRF allocations can be spent on otherwise unreimbursed expenses and lost revenues related to COVID-19. PRF Reporting must be done through the PRF Reporting Portal during the time period that corresponds to the period in which an organization received funds. More information can be found here.
Please note that many RHCs and their parent organizations received funding from PRF Phase 5 and the ARP Rural allocation during periods 4 and 5 and continue to have reporting requirements in 2023.
Post-Payment Notice of Reporting Requirements issued October, 27, 2022.
Public Health Emergency Duration
Many temporary waivers are in effect for the duration of the PHE which concluded on May 11, 2023. For additional details please review NARHC's April 2023 webinar and materials here. Commercial players may issue thier own policies with their own timelines that may or may not depend on the federal government's declaration of a public health emergency.
