House Ways and Means Committee Seeks Information on Addressing Access to Care in Rural and Underserved Communities
Sarah Hohman, Director of Government Affairs
This week, the House Ways and Means Committee, led by Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08) released a Request for Information (RFI) on addressing access to health care challenges in rural, underserved communities.
The Committee is seeking “bold, new proposals” in the below key areas:
- Geographic Payment Differences
- Sustainable Provider and Facility Financing
- Aligning Sites of Service
- Health Care Workforce
- Innovative Care Models and Technology
NARHC appreciates the Committee seeking stakeholder input on these important issues and for its attention to rural health this Congress. We will be submitting a response focusing on NARHC’s top 3 current policy priorities: The Rural Health Clinic Burden Reduction Act, Medicare Advantage, and Telehealth, along with other priorities (within the limits of a 10-page response!)
As a reminder, you don’t ever have to set foot in D.C. to make your clinic’s voice heard! We encourage you to submit comments directly to WMAccessRFI@mail.house.gov by October 5, 2023, at 5 pm ET.
Please email Sarah.Hohman@narhc.org with any questions.
