Make Your Voice Heard – Medicare Advantage Request for Information
Sarah Hohman, Director of Government Affairs, NARHC & Jeffrey Burke, Deputy Director of Government Affairs, NARHC
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking comments on Medicare Advantage (MA) data. This is an opportunity for RHCs to weigh in on issues surrounding MA, including shortcomings in existing data and areas where new data collection and publication would be helpful.
We know that Medicare Advantage broadly remains one of the biggest challenges facing RHCs, from reimbursement rates to claims denials to prior authorization issues.
NARHC is actively engaged with policymakers in Washington D.C. on this subject, and this RFI offers an opportunity to improve MA data which can then be used to further highlight the challenges RHCs share that they continue to encounter with these plans.
CMS specifically designed this Request for Information in response to feedback that the MA program should be more transparent. NARHC will be submitting comments on behalf of RHC experiences with MA.
If you have additional details you would like to see included, please reach out to NARHC’s Director of Government Affairs, Sarah Hohman (sarah.hohman@narhc.org) by May 15, 2024. Make sure your RHC’s experiences with MA are reflected in our comments!
